God is Water

Born and raised in the desert, I never lived near a natural body of water. I moved to Los Angeles during the longest California drought on record (2015) and despite all the lack, I found myself spending every free moment in the ocean- or thinking about the ocean. Water consumed me. This series examines our relationship with water- to be made mostly of water and to be sourrounded mostly by water, and yet to still be in constant need of water. Woven amongst the photographs are images of the desert that I made between 2013-2014 before I moved to California.
